School

Robin pulled Shanell closer to him being careful of the wrist that Barry was checking. He looked at his older brother then at Mo then again at Andy. “She's not going back to that bloody school.. we'll pay to have her home schooled … I knew it was that stupid bint that did it …. “ He looked at Barry “how's 'er wrist..”

Barry shook his head “its black and blue I can't tell if she hurt it badly unless we take her to hospital to have it checked out ...”

“no..” Shanell sat up but didn’t move from where she sat. “its fine … I can move it around....” She wiped at her eyes the tears that had started to fall after hearing what Robin said. She looked at their parents “I don't want to go back to that school mum...” She whispered. She shook her head as she laid her head against Robin's shoulder. She listened to Andy talking to their parents all she wanted to do was forget today. Then talking about calling the local bobbi wasn't going to be worth it. It was her word against Patrice's and her friends would not give her up.

The next day Shanell stayed at home with Robin and Andy. They had gone the night before much to Shanell's protests to hospital to check her to make sure she was alright. She didn't get to say much as Andy carried her inside and never left her side while her mum and dad had filled out the paperwork. She knew she hadn't done much to herself she had x rays and such only to show that she had a sprained wrist and a twisted ankle with bruises. She sat in the living room she knew where her mum was headed today. Each one of her brothers especially Robin and Andy were adamant she was NOT going back to that school. There had even been talk about removing the money they gave them. This time her Da was the cool head reminding them that if they did that they would look like the bad guys.

Robin had argued that they didn't deserve it, but their dad once again repeated the same thing that Shanell had said after the concert. It was not fair to the rest of the school to punish them for the actions of others. Yes it was wrong but it wasn't the whole school and it wasn't all of the teachers. Yes they had found out about the choir teacher starting on Shanell again after she had been half asleep in the car. She looked up from her book Andy was on the floor by the couch. She saw Barry and their mom walk out. “what's going on....”

“Mum and I are going to get the rest of your stuff from the school and take out of the school...” Barry stated as he put on his coat.

“why is Barry going with you....do I need to go with you...” Shanell sat up putting her foot down only for Andy reach up and move her back onto the couch. She scowled down at her older brother “its just a twisted ankle. “ She rolled her eyes as Robin also moved and put her ankle back on the pillow and moved the ice pack on it.

“No you stay here … we won't take long we just have to remove you from the school registers tell them you will be home schooled … get your books and such did you leave much there...” Barry stated as he smoothed her hair back kissing her frustrated forehead.

'just a couple books that's it …. I had most of my stuff in my bag “

“Okay …. we will be back in a couple hours ….” they headed out of the house. She looked at Barry “that was easy I was sure Robin was going to say he was going with us...” They headed towards the school in the car.

They were there for over an hour after meeting with the secretary they were escorted into the principal who was worried that they were pulling Shanell from the school. Barry at first started to let his mother talk but when the Principal Newt was not listening to what she had to say he stepped in. He point blank told them about the attack on his sister the day before the injuries she sustained because of the attack. When he was asked who was accused of such a crime. He had told them who did it. He was disgusted when Patrice tried to fawn over him as she was called in. Just like Shanell had thought it was her word against Patrice's. Both he and his mother was fed up and withdrew Shanell from the school much to the protest of the Principal AND the Vice Principal who was pulled in to try to talk them out of it. By the time they got home Barry was very glad they had decided to pull his sister. They were more worried that it was going to look bad about them removing her than what happened to her.
