Heart to Heart

A couple days later it was decided that when the twins, Barry and Andy went back to the states Shanell was going with them. Sure they had said that it was an option before the concert but it had finally been confirmed when Barbara sat down with Barry and Andy. Hugh was sad to see his little girl move so far away from them as was she. Though they were sad they knew it was what was best for her. Moving to a new place they had done it more than once themselves for their sons careers, this would give her a fresh start without the bullying she had experienced. She would enroll in the high school by Barry's house, but she would enroll under her moms maiden name of Pas just for protection.

Shanell sat in her room packing her clothes a week later all her school things had already been set up to be transferred to Malibu High. She was packing most of her stuff but the brothers told her not to pack too much as they would go shopping soon as they got back to the states. She had rolled her eyes at that, yes she was a typical girl and did love clothes but shopping was going to be the last things she wanted to do. At least now her ankle had heeled so she could go back to riding. She and Andy would be staying at Barry's. There had been a small disagreement between the brothers because both Robin and Maurice said they wanted to spend time with her also. There had been a discussion and she would spend time with them on off days or they would come see her at Barry's.

She looked around her she had some good memories in here. She didn't grow up here, they moved back to Australia two years before Andy moved to the states with Barry. She couldn't believe it was three years ago. She had met Patrice first day of school, moving from Isle of man had been different. They had moved there because Barry had said it was best for Andy's career so they had moved. Now here it was three years later and she was the one moving from the home only this time it wasn't with their parents. She would be living with her two brothers till Andy's house had been fixed. That had been another argument between Robin and Andy well not really an argument but a discussion that Robin had been very vocal about.

Andy had brought up the discussion he had with their mom the year before. He had wanted to take Shanell with him and Barry back then. He knew just how bad the school could get. He had dealt with it himself he was bullied because they thought he had a superior attitude because of his brothers. It was the same thing she had dealt with. Unfortunately it had come true again and she was now the one moving. He had wanted her with him then and now she was going to be doing just that. True she was close to all her brothers she was closer to Andy and Barry more than the twins. When they had said that she was moving with them she was afraid it was to Miami but it wasn't. Barry's wife Linda had called to see how everything was the day before.

Barry had married Linda in 1970 she remembered being in the wedding. She had a little nephew Stephen and Linda was expecting again but they were in Miami and she was going to the California house. It was closer to where Andy's flat was. She sat down on the bed sighing she would be lying to herself if she said she wasn't scared or worried. It was a big adjustment sure she wasn't a stranger to moving around with her brothers being who they were that was something they did without an issue. But this was not with her parents this was sort of on her own with her brothers. She looked up when she heard a knock on the door she turned to see Andy leaning against the door frame his arms crossed against his chest

. “you okay Shan?” He asked his voice concerned. The closer the time got to when they were leaving the more stressed his sister got. “you do know you don't have to go we can get you a tutor or something...” Though he knew it would be good for her new place new things he didn't want to push her into something she didn't want.

She shook her head “No I know I don't have to go ….Ands ….. “ She hugged her knees to her chest. “I am just nervous I guess.... its a big move....” She sighed ..

“its not like we haven't moved before and had a big move before ...” he sat on the edge of her bed rubbing her back. “I mean we went from Australia to the UK when you were six and then we went to Spain and then to the Isle of Man …..” He relaxed against the wall and let her lean against him. “so its not something really new …. sure its a new country but you'll love it starlight …. new friends …. the school is probably really nice …. Marie and Donny are there … too I am sure you'd like to see them... “

Shanell looked at him “yeah but usually its all of us moving …. this time its just me …. you Barry and the twins already moved there …. I am just scared Andy ….” She rested her head against his chest “but I know I have to go and I need to …. staying here in Brisbane is not an option not after what happened at the school.... I am just scared...”

Andy leaned down to kiss the top of her head “you won't be alone …. I know you are scared … but I won't leave you to deal with it alone neither will Robin Mo or Barry .. we will be with you …. I promise …. “ he rested his head against hers. “I'll always be there for you Starlight no matter what....”
